- Yes, we do banking, too! Isn't it nice to have everything in one place you can trust?

5 Stars - There is a set schedule for high-school students. I think its great and
it keeps them from avoiding or being distracted from getting their work done!
Our daughter has finished her 3rd year of college as a communications
major. She has an excellent grade average between 3.7 and 4.0. She is going
on to bioengineering. Cova is great for students who want to excel without
the peer distractions and behaviors that do not receive help or guidance from
brick and mortar schools with overpriced sport programs.

1 Stars - This used to be a wonderful program but since they got established they have turned into a horrible program. It used to be you could do schooling around things you needed to do dr appts ect. But now if you dont do the 8 hours of schooling when they want you to do it they put you on action plans and give you all kinds of grief. I have been with this program for eight years and have watched them steadily go down hill. They hurt our kids with the csap testing and and they have hired some teachers that dont know you and just try to be gung ho and power aggressive. It is really sad. They might as well be a brick and mortar. I would strongly suggest private school or traditional HS.

5 Stars - I have been a COVA dad for 3 1/2 years. My son is on 3rd grade and I started fresh when he was in Kindergarten.
Anyone could do this program. There is plenty of support and all materials (including a computer, if you need one) are free. The Online School (OLS) is a great interface that allows you to organize your lessons for your whole year. You can often simply read the lessons and do the activities that the OLS provides. There is always ample opportunity for reinforcement and the option to skip sections that your child has mastered. There are regular virtual meetings with the teacher supplied by COVA. These happen usually once a month. There is testing at the beginning, middle and end of each school year which are usually face to face.
Starting in 3rd grade the students take the same csap tests as public school kids. In fact COVA is a charter school with in the Adams 12 school district.
I have found the teachers to be competent and friendly.
The courses are excellent. My 3rd grade son is constantly out performing his same aged public school friends in math and he has read more classic literature already than I ever read in public school.
The history is better than I ever had in public school, in fact I have learned a lot since I've been teaching my son.
We are Catholic and are able to organize our day around regular prayer times and take off special feast days. Try asking the school to encourage your kids to say grace before they eat and see what they say.
I recommend this program to anyone considering home school
