1 Stars - I wish that zero stars were an option.
I am a legal immigrant from Ireland and needed to have my Irish license transferred to an American one. This is supposedly a simple process, but despite my mountain of legal documents from the US government, my work visa, SSN, and me working for the largest accounting firm in the world, they were not sure I was legally present in the US legally... So I've been to this office 5 times over the past 6 months to try and resolve the issue, which is still ongoing. At one point their computer system for dealing with foreigners was even down for 6 weeks. 6 weeks!
And I've occasionally found myself wondering if staff there receive some kind of incentive pay or reward for being unnecessarily rude. The DMV, what a strange place.
5 Stars - I just moved back to CO from back east & needed to transfer my license. Walked in used the touch-screen to narrow the need for my visit which then provided a ticket specific to my request. The place was small & packed w/ people waiting. I was a little hesitant, thinking I would need to settle in. I only had to wait about 5 min before my # was called. The service was fast & courteous! I was done in less than 15 min. Should receive my new license in 1-2 weeks. Great experience! Thanks!
5 Stars - This morning I found these people very helpful. the man and the lady that helped in a complicated situation were patient, friendly and understanding.
1 Stars - Got there 20 minutes early for my 18 y/o daughter's drivers test. I had driven with her before and was quite comfortable with her driving ability (more than some adults I know and more comfortable than with my son who passed his test the first time). We had an appointment for 9. It wasn't clear if you still needed to take a number and there were no special lines designated for driver's testing. There was such a line for "license renewals." We asked a clerk who said to wait in that line. We stood in that line for 8 minutes or so. We were called and the cold old woman at the counter quipped "you were supposed to be here 15 minutes ago." To which I replied that we had been and recited what I wrote above. I was a bit frustrated by her comment. That may have been why the short heavy woman with a very short haircut who tested my daughter failed her. I'm not trying to insult these people, but to describe them so that you're careful around them. We will retake the test at another location.
1 Stars - Had to order a new copy of my DL, Went in and asked if i was moving in a month should it be sent to my new place or old. (right across the hallway moved from unit #3 to #1). Was told I had to use my current or it was fraud. Well surprise it never showed up and when explained that I had never received my id, I had to buy another one because my address changed from the time I had been there last, and the first $20 was a gift I guess. The DMV blows, have raised fee's more the 300% in the last 5 years, while steadily reducing the IQ of it employees, and quality of service . Be warned they are Governed only by them self's, the courts have no power of these D bags, and will they will treat you how they please...after all Driving is a privileged
