5 Stars - Their service department is first rate. They have great prices and will work with you.
Tom Knebel in the sales department is the person to see when buying.
He is smart, not pushy and treated me right.
Thank you Tom!
1 Stars - Don't even bother going here! They tried to pull one over on me in every way they could. I picked out a very nice sonata and was willing to buy, as soon as a mechanic looked at it. The mechanic told me that it needs new brakes in the back ASAP. I was upset that they had not done this already because the car had supposedly already been serviced. They took the car back to fix it and told me 2 days later that the brakes were fine. I took it to ANOTHER mechanic - who verified the fact that the brakes were in bad need of a quick repair. I told Billion that since they had failed to fix the brakes twice, I wanted the cost of fixing the brakes taken off the top and I would fix it myself. They took 3 days to consider my offer and eventually told me that they are unable to negotiate the price. It's a used car lot!
On top of that, they lied to me about the loan information. I very specifically said I wanted a loan through UICCU because I know their rates and conditions. They offered me a loan that had twice as high of an interest rate and more months than I should have been offered. I demanded to see the loan paperwork but they refused, which is illegal! I agreed to write a check for the down payment with the understanding that I would get a loan myself through my bank.
I went into UICCU and they told me they there was no loan information from Billion - weird, right? So after they refused to give me the loan information and also refused to lower the price, I told them that I was done dealing with them and insisted that they shred the legal paperwork and check.
Two days later I see that they reduced the price of the sonata. Although I don't want to give them money, I did have the loan money still and was happy with the new price for that vehicle. I went in and signed the last paperwork. Turns out, they had not shreded the paperwork! They also had not shreded the check. So I had a $3,000 check just floating around in some drawer. Imagine if someone had cashed that! I can not believe how little they cared about anything.
I highly recommend that people avoid this place. They try to push you through the process so fast that you don't have time to think so they can sneak you a different loan than you had asked for, prevent you from finding the mechanical issues with the vehicle that they flat-out lie about, and so they can slip you the super expensive and useless rust protection.
5 Stars - This for Levi Walker my name is Floyd Patten my girlfriend Gloria and I bought a 2013 Equinox from Billion Auto. We had been trying to trade our Jeep off that we had at a lot of other dealerships and none of them would deal with us and then a friend told us about Billion Auto so we came there and Billion Auto traded with us. We are very pleased with the way everyone treated us. We are very happy with our Equinox it is dew for an oil change and I am a Veteran so I hope that what your bill borad says is true that you give free oil changes for Veterans! You have a good staff and Nat was very good to work with. Thanks again for all u done for us and I will tell anyone who is looking to trade cars to go to Billion Auto they will do u right. 1 Stars - I had the misfortune of not only buying a car from these people but working for them as well. I bought a Camaro from them in the spring of 2014 with the idea that the car was in working order only to have the entire radiator give out and the oil pressure die after a month of owning it.
I ended up getting fired in August due to "compatibility issues" and found a better job 6 weeks later but my problems with the car only got worse when I found out there was a sealant crack in the engine which would end up costing me $2,000 to fix.
I ended up taking out a new loan and bought a better car from Capper Auto and sold my Camaro to a mechanic who gave me half of what I paid for the car when I bought it from Billion ($5,000). In the end I only owned that car for 10 months, paid $1000 in repairs, and drove it for 12,000 miles before I had to let it go. I didn't even have half the loan paid off.
I can personally say this is the worst company I have ever done business with and worked for. They lied to me at every opportunity about the state of the car telling me it was fine every time I dropped another $200 to fix it. If this is the best they can treat a former employee I'd hate to see how they treat their customers.
I hope that this review serves as a message to others about how they do business. I've unfortunately had to learn the hard way about buying a car but at least I learned. Integrity with your customers is vital to the survival of a business and Billion has none. This isn't how you do business to your community.
1 Stars - One of the most unprofessional experiences I've had. The experience involved only a phone call, and it was enough to turn me away from getting my vehicle serviced there. I purchased my Honda in Ames, but live in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area, so was looking for a place to take my vehicle for service. How I was spoken to on the phone with just a few simple questions showed that they didn't care to have my business, and that I was more of a problem than a customer. I will be looking elsewhere for Honda service.
