2 Stars - I would like to start by saying that I do love my vehicle however if I had to option to do it over again I would NOT buy from Lake Manawa Kia. I had a great experience until they knew they had me. After that the salesman, Darrell put chew in his mouth and continued to close the deal...disgusting! The finance department forgot to get my check and then made a big fuss about how they needed it right away...not my fault. Then when I brought my car in for my 1000 mile checkup I asked them to vacuum my car and they didn't. By the time I realized it, it would have been a bigger waste of my time to go back in inside, have them take my car back in and vacuum it than it was worth. Then I referred two people to get cars there. One of them went in and met with my salesman, Darrell and he was rude and refused to work with her. He even tried to tell her it was a good idea to create a sunroof than find a car that already had one. She ended up purchasing from H&H. The other friend I referred forgot the referral card when she came in the first time and presented it the second time she came in when she did all the paperwork and bought the car. Three weeks later the Sales Manager Chuck Norman has just told me that I am not getting the referral bonus because the process was not followed correctly and essentially called myself and my friend a liar. The finance department also screwed my friend when they cashed her check before the agreed upon date and she had to go through a bunch of trouble to get it reversed and get the overdraft fees taken care of. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM LAKE MANAWA
*****EDIT After much difficulty and a report to the BBB I did finally get the referral bonus. However I still haven't been happy with the service. They never wash or vacuum my car when I ask them to. I have dent protection and both times I've asked it as they told me to and have been given different stories about how that's handled. Hopefully my next experience will be better.
2 Stars - My review is more for Darrell Budlong than the dealership itself. Leased a car from him, asked him if there would be any fees when we turned in our lease as we had never leased before, he said only if there was damage to it. Signed papers and a few weeks later we read in the contract that there was a $400 lease turn in fee. Neither Darrell or the finance man mentioned this. Tried calling Darrell for days/weeks with no success. Randomly one Friday night around midnight I get a call from him asking for Angel (not my name). Told him he mistakenly called me and that we had an issue with the car he leased to us and he hung up. Luckily for him, his sales managers cleared things up with us but I would never recommend him as anyones salesperson.
1 Stars - Wish I could give this place zero stars.
The sales manager wouldn't give me a price quote unless I agreed to buy the car TODAY. He was angry that I would take the amount and shop around (well duhhhh, welcome to capitalism). Price maybe important but from what I'd experienced today most of the dealers were close in their prices....it came down to presentation, service and attitude.
He "promised" that he would offer the best price (would not tell me the discounts/incentives or trade in value) but only if I agreed to buy beforehand. If he was so sure of his product, service and price he wouldn't of had a problem (all other vendors I visited were willing to give a price quote). Quite frankly, he could of offered a SUPER deal but his attitude sucked and I wouldn't had taken it.
The sales manager came off as unprofessional, confrontational, and condescending. This place will NEVER get my business.
Remembers this place.....Edwards Nissan of Council Bluffs.....not a good place to do business. Too many childish games.
1 Stars - DO NOT BUY from Edwards Nissan unless you are expecting to be screwed. I recently bought a Nissan Rogue from Edwards and while I love the vehicle...it came to light after the purchase that I was completely lied to during the entire process of purchasing from them. I brought in my old vehicle which was a lease in hopes to surrender it and get into a new vehicle. I was upside down on my previous lease due to the being over on miles, and when working with the salesman I was informed that they would roll the extra funds to cover the mileage into my current lease, which I knew was something I had to do. While negotiating the price of the vehicle and the payment I continuously asked if the price and payment included the almost $2000 I needed for the over mileage on my current vehicle...to which I was informed it was and was I not only informed that once but 4 or 5 times during the negotiation. This is the only reason why I agreed to the purchase price for the new vehicle. Well turns out I was led to believe one thing and when the agreement was printed up it was not included. After the closing I was asked to sign a mileage slip showing what the mileage was on my old vehicle at which time I was informed that they weren't buying my lease out but turning it back to the car company...which I found weird since I was led to believe they would be paying for the last two months payments and the over mileage.
So to my surprise I got a bill in the mail from my old car company for $2000. I attempted to call Edwards several times and left messages and received no calls back. I finally got a Clint on the phone and explained my situation in which he said he would pull my file and get back to me...and NO CALL BACK once again! So pretty much, Edwards Nissan screwed me, leaving me with a $2000 bill from my old car company and are now dodging my calls. The entire processes was a mess, this is what they call deceptive lending at it's finest! At this time, I will be contacting my lawyer to see what I can go after Edwards Nissan for, as well as filing a complaint with the BBB as I believe everyone should know that this place will rip you off the first chance they get.
5 Stars - Amazing Guy!!
We worked with Alex Knoecker to get us in a vehicle. We tried many places but he was the only one able to get us in to something. We were gonna try preowned and super cheap due to credit reasons, but Alex got us into a Brand new 2014 Nissan Altima for pretty close to the price of a used car!!! I love my new car! Thank You Alex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
