5 Stars - Our daughter goes to school at Iowa State...Low tire light on before a 5.5 hour drive home for Thanksgiving. Contacted the dealership and they got us in at the appointed time. Work was done within estimate and she was on her way. Nice to know there is a dealer for a family memeber far from home to go to with a car problem. Thanks George White!
2 Stars - Very upset over the service at George White. I purchased a car less than a year ago and started to have several problems with it. After taking it to the service department they would not help me at all without paying 90 dollars for a diagnostic test. I took it to a different dealership and they told me it was under warranty. I took it back to George White and they refused to call GM to check on the warranty. They told me GM would not cover it and they would not even try calling. I drove right back to the other dealership and they called GM. GM covered ONE HUNDRED percent of the repair. I will never go back to George White and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a car or looking for service on their car.
2 Stars - Only worked with the service department, but by far the worst experience I've ever had taking my vehicle in for repair. Had 2 different intances where they were completely in the wrong and they did nothing to make it right. Sad sad customer service. I would drive to Karl Chevy in Ankeny and I live in Ames.

5 Stars - Very good experience with sales rep Barry Johnson. Very low pressure, straight numbers, no bs. Went to Shottenkirk in Waukee and felt attacked by sharks. Highly recommend looking at George White.

2 Stars - I was going there for a used vehicle. I proposed my offer, which might be lower than what Doug expected. He kept asking me why I proposed this offer...Is this an interview?? If I said that's all what I can pay, then he'll accept the offer? Comon, just say no and save the time for both of us if you think its low!! And no handshake when I left...Be a grow-up.
I emailed back and offer same. Ironically, Doug accepted it! Will be keeping play game with them.
1 Stars - terrible i bought a car from them and had an issue. and they haven't returned any of my calls .. i got scammed it was a total joke the car needed $1300 in repairs and wasn't hardly safe to drive... i hadn't even gotten home and it started making all kinds of noises so i just dropped it off at the shop and called honda the next day ... they said "we don't have any policy in place to help unsatisfied customers" and after that they haven't returned a single call.
5 Stars - I value effiency, and I was very pleased when our dealer, Mr. Fox, rather than showing me a bunch of cars I didn't want, quickly figured out what I was looking for, and showed me that. He asked me what I wanted, and really listened to my specifications. He didn't try to push me out of the price range I told him, which I also appriciated. Mr. Fox was helpful, competent and straightforward. Furthermore, he was friendly and upbeat in all of our communication, but I never felt that he was disingenuous. I found the perfect car for me, with his help.
5 Stars - Absolutely fantastic experience, the salesman was friendly and outgoing, he offered choices, answered our questions well and found us a wonderful vehicle. Though we were not ready to buy at our initial visit, he was incredibly helpful, followed up with us a few days later and was there to make the sale when we made our decision. The sale was smooth and when we were ready to go, the car was spotless. I've been driving my new (to me) Toyota for a little more than a week and have been very pleased. I would definitely recommend stopping at Honda of Ames to shop for a car.
5 Stars - I recently bought a new 2014 CR-V from Rob at Honda of Ames. I highly recommend anyone looking for a new car to work with Rob. I anticipated lots of stress and anxiety, but it was really fun chatting with Rob and hearing about the different packages and deals without feeling overwhelmed. I never felt pressured or pushed in any direction; I thought that Rob listened well to what I wanted and made it happen. I absolutely LOVE my new CR-V!! Thanks, Rob! (and Honda of Ames!)
