1 Stars - Had an insanely deceptive marketing campaign. Drove all the way out there to be given a sales pitch. Thought I won a car. And no I'm not stupid and have a college degree.
If the are willing to deceive you so much, what else will they hide when they sell you a car?
3 Stars - I've read the three reviews on here - I don't have a lot of respect for anonymous reviewers, too easy to hide behind a screen and complain about people and it's unfair to not even give the business a chance to respond or address the issues brought forth.
I haven't purchased a vehicle here but I do take both my '08 Dodge Ram and fiance's 2010 Chevy Malibu here for service. I was concerned taking my truck to a dealership, particularly one I hadn't purchased it at, would be like I'm a buck during hunting season. I was VERY pleasantly surprised to find the oil change was very reasonably priced, truck was in and out, they did an inspection as part of the service and let me know what the manufacturer recommendations were for the upcoming 60,000 mile mark on my truck and said they'd looked and everything seemed fine, at some point the brakes will need new pads but they were good and safe now so no need at this point. They offered to look at my fiance's car door latches after another dealership was going to rake us over the coals (the dealership she actually bought the car at!) even though they're not a Chevy dealership and give us their opinion. My experience in their service department has been that they are prompt, very professional - actually return your call! - they keep you updated on your vehicle status and they appear to be focused on a long-term relationship which means no quick grabs with bogus "you need to do this or you will die on the way out of the dealership when the widget part fails and kills your family and you love your family don't you?...."
Again, can't speak for how they treat you when they sell you a vehicle but from a service standpoint I've been very pleased. Update: I can now speak to how they treat you as a potential customer. I ended up purchasing my brand new Ram elsewhere. And at the same time, we purchased another a slightly used RAV4 from the other dealership (Tanner Motors, Brainerd). I'd say if you want to purchase a vehicle this dealership has on their lot right now, it's possible it would go fine. Ask them go beyond and bring in something from elsewhere...you probably want to just go elsewhere. When I'm spending this much money on a new vehicle, I want somebody to treat me with courtesy, not as a burden and answer the questions I have instead of trying to shoehorn me into what they think I should buy. I was disappointed. I followed up with two salespeople thanking them for their time - wishing one congratulations on the birth of a new child. Not a word in response. As a prospect NOW - you may hear from them. As a future customer - you're not worth their time unfortunately.
PS - I will still say their service department is awesome and very courteous and responsive!

1 Stars - I'D BEWARE WERE I YOU!! In 2005 I purchased a 2002 F-150 from Cloquet Ford. I also purchased the extended warranty for $1300. Great truck, no problems until a minor problem with my headlights last month. I took it in and had the problem diagnosed as needing a new module for the lights. When I got out my extended warranty, I was taken to an employee's office and politely told the WARRANTY WAS NO GOOD because the company backing it had gone under. The employee gave me an 800 number to call and suggested I contact a dealer in Moose Lake that was familiar with the situation. (I called the 800 number on my cell phone while in his office and was immediately put on hold) I paid the $143 cost of the diagnosis by Cloquet Ford and left with out ordering the module. It is neither my fault or that of Cloquet Ford that the warranty company went under. But in that I purchased the warranty in good faith, it would have been nice if they would have as least given me a break on the diagnosis fee. Not so. They got me once but will never get me again. 5 Stars - When you consider how this company serves their communtity this company is great. In business you will never make all of the people happy all of the time. This company sells many vehicles with mostly satisfied customers and if there is ever a problem they have made it known they will take care of the situation at hand. Cloquet Ford have helped us at the Disabled American Vets. (DAV) by allowing us to raise money for our organization every year all year long. We have also noticed they help organizations like Relay For Life, Friends of Animals, Home For The Holidays Celebration, the Tribal College, the Memorial Hospital, The military at the Army National Gaurd, Blood Drive, most every golf fund raise and high school event including having the employees go to the schools and read to the students. We know most of the employees and they have sold many of our members and residents of Cloquet and they have always been kind and polite. We know this information because Cloquet Ford is very open and public about what they do and if a customer has a problem they should bring it to the owners attention not bite the hand that helps the community.
