My sister in law and I drove from north jersey, a 2 hour drive, just to go to this boutique! We did a google search and just wished that the store was as good as the reviews make it out to be.. and I can tell you this much, it was 100% worth it!!!
Thanks so much to the help of Stacy!!! She made everything possible. She went out of her way to find the perfect dress and at the perfect size. She was so humble and informative about the store and answered any questions we had!! I really wish there were more sale representatives like her. Stacy truly made my sister in law feel like the princess that she is💕 at the end of the sale, she gave us all a hug and said a prayer for her... she wasn't just an employee but a beautiful person 🤗
Today was my first and last visit to Jan's Boutique. It started when my 2 two sisters, my sister's future mother-in-law and I (3 Hispanics and a Caucasian) walked into Jan's and were told that we had to be quick because they were closing soon. We were then immediately asked what our price range was and were toId there was nothing under $1000 and were only allowed in one section. My sister's mother-in-law found a dress miraculously under $1000 and was then told we had to hurry because they were closing. I'm the midst of our attempt to go have her try the dress on, five different sales women came and made sure we were not just browsing. While trying on the dress we were repeatedly told to not touch the dress, while guests in the fitting room next to ours were touching the dresses and were not asked to wear gloves. They kept on telling us to come back and were surprised when we found her dress and were at check out by 6pm. Once she went to pay and took over her black card, is when their attitudes finally changed. I have never been discriminated against in this manner and was not expecting it. We were tempted to not purchase the dress, but it fit so perfect. So beware, if you do not fit into their preferred clientele, you will be made to feel inferior.
We drove over an hour and had an appointment this morning. We took pictures of the dresses my daughter wanted to see and try on and made sure her top pick was in stock online in her size. When we get there we are greeted by Ashley who takes us back to the dresses. We told her what we were looking for (none of them were available over a size 6) she brought us to a section to look through. It was a joke we had a budget of up to $1000, I wanted a nice dress for my daughter. We were shown cheap garbage. None of the dresses we saw on line were available, when my daughter was brought to a counter to show her pictures the girl there couldn't have been less interested and very rude. They don't have knowledge about the gowns that they are advertising and basically told us that sorry they didn't have them. Our sales girl didn't pull a single dress, we pulled ,3 then ,2 and none of them were what we drove all the way for. It's a shame when you think you are going to have so much to try and look at and then at best you are shown picked over left overs. I am happy to say we went elsewhere and got a gorgeous gown for my daughter with great customer service at a boutique. DONT BE TRICKED THIS PLACE SUCKS

I called Jan's to make sure that they had the dress I was looking for before I made the over an hour drive. Once I arrived to find that they did't have the dress I called about (apparently it was the same style number as another brand..but I clarified the brand name when I called..) I decided to look around, and with no budget I was thrilled with the upscale selection and found a few gowns that I wanted to try. I saw a beautiful dress on a mannequin that I wanted to try but was told by the sales person that she didn't think I would like it..?? I found a unique 1960's inspired dress, but since it did not meet the look I was going for was not 100% sold on it. The sales person was super excited when I picked it out and said that she was waiting for someone to try on and buy this particular dress. I did try it on and loved the style, but since it did not meet my criteria I asked to see other options. The options she brought back were awful so I went out to the sales floor to look for myself. When looking through the racks, and asking to try on a few more dresses, the sales person told me that I had exhausted all of my options (which I doubt because I only tried on about 6 dresses and they have the largest selection in the Delaware Valley). She pretty much made me feel like the time she had set to help me (they do set a timer, FYI) was up. Once I was dressed she continued to push the dress I which I still was not 100% sold on.
At the end of the day, I felt pressured into buying a $600.00 dress ($50 more expensive at Jan's than at other retailers) that I am not thrilled with, can't return..can't exchange..and will have to find a way to sell.
This Shop needs to be AVOIDED at all cost for PROM please DO NOT SUPPORT this SHOP for PROM dresses! The saleswomen are HORRIBLE! They fat shame the young girl's. They paraded a skinny girl in a popular dress and said see this how it's supposed to fit and giggled!! They won't give you the sizes you want they assume your FAT and call you out on it!! You can't go alone without Mom because they are so paranoid you DO NOT HAVE money!! The stupid catalogue comes and every girls dreams about the dress. Well here's where your dress dream DIE. AVOID this place like you would a pile of poop!
