3 Stars - The good: This hotel is inexpensive, centrally located, has a friendly staff and is pet friendly.
The bad is that it's poorly maintained, the continental breakfast was the worst I've ever had, and it's very, very, very noisy.
What I mean by maintenance are things like a broken shower-head in my room, a broken towel shelf, broken AC controls -- and that was just MY room. I had to stay for two nights and found it to be impressive that they were able to somehow provide a screaming baby twenty-four-hours-a-day. That's impressive. If the crying baby wasn't thoughtfully provided by the guests in the room next to mine, as it was in my case, it was provided by the staff who brought their crying babies from home to continue the great continuous crying tradition. As I'm typing this there is a baby crying in the hallway. I envy his ability to wail constantly. I wonder if the hotel puts these babies through special training so they can cry for hours without passing out. It's impressive, in a terrible sort of way.
5 Stars - Rodeway Inn in Espanola is great clean friendly affordable and the staff was on top of ther game I would stay again anytime and with China Kitchen next door what more could I have asked 4
1 Stars - No pool or hot tub - its been closed for months/years? No coffee or coffee maker in the room. No clock of any sort. No remote for the TV. Room was supposed to have a king bed. It was king headboard anchored to the wall with queen mattress. Two of the three pillows were disintegrated in lumps. Huge water stain and wet ceiling. Room smelled like mold. No bar soap. Everywhere a corner can be cut, it has been. I could go on, but you get the idea. This entire property is suffering from serious neglect.
2 Stars - There was a bed bug and glass on the floor of our room. It was very dingy and stains on the walls and bathroom sink. The pool was unusable. The price that was quoted on the web was not what we were given when we checked in. I am only giving it 2 stars because they did match the rate and refund us money although it took 2 days and talking to 3 different people. The breakfast left little to be desired and there were very few items there on the second day.
4 Stars - I found the place looking a little worn. The peep hole in my door was missing and the tv remote didn't work but it was in my price range and clean.
