My wife purchased the "Double Pkg," (2) 8 minute drive sessions, as a Christmas present for me to use at Charlotte MS. Today, March 5, 2016 was my day and the experience was "awesome!" My max speed was 157 mph/Max RPM 5000. Only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review is that for the second 8 minute session, I would have like to have been given the opportunity to increase the RPM limit to the 5700 level, which is allowed for drivers purchasing the "Checkered Flag" package, that adds a third 8 minute session. Overall though, this experience more than met my expectations. From the organization, training and professional staff, including my spotter who provided top notch communications, it has been chalked up as a very positive memory! For sure, this experience made me realize just how challenging it must be for the "real" Nascar drivers to go the distance they do behind the wheel. Hats off to all involved for making this happen, but especially my wonderful wife of 40+ years!
If you've never participated in any of the NASCAR driving schools, I would highly recommend NASCAR Racing Experience. Their team is professional, and they give a first-time driver very good direction and on-track guidance. Their experience places a strong focus on driver safety.
If you've participated in similar driving schools in the past, I would not recommend NASCAR Racing Experience. They use rev limiters on the cars, and do not tailor your experience based on driver capabilities and past on-track experience. I assume this is done in the name of safety, but it is good for a more experienced driver to know that speeds are restricted.
This was a dream come true experience for my husband. He had the best time ever. I would recommend doing a second ride, my husband said he just got the hang of it ans time was over then he had a second drive and went crazy he loved it. Definatly worth the money for die hard driving fans. they staff was great to work with.
I went last summer and done the Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure at Talladega and had experience of a life time. Drove 10 laps all over 170mph with my fastest a touch over 180mph. As soon as I got home I planned another trip. We bought 2 20 lap drives,2 10 lap drives, and 1 3 lap ride along. When it came time to schedule our trip we found out that Dale Jarrett had been bought out by NASCAR Racing Experience, but they would honor what we purchased from Dale Jarrett. That was a lie. We were told that all our drives were now 2 8 minute driving sessions. Take it or leave it. So we go ahead and schedule a trip. We get there early get checked in, get fitted with our driving suits and go inside for class room instruction were we find out that the cars will be limited to 5000 RPM. You got to be kidding me this is DEGA cars here are meant to be ran wide open. The Dale Jarrett cars revved out to 8500 RPM. Now we get out to pit road to wait our turn. The wait wasn't long. Get fitted with a helmet and ear buds. Get put in a car to find out there is no head and neck restraints, only a old fashion neck roll. Now for my time on the track. Start out able to hear the instructor fine but as soon as the engine was started I was only able to hear bits and peace's of his instructions. Couldn't keep the car off the rev limiter. Was only able to get the car to level out at about a quarter throttle. My 1st 8 minute session I made 6 laps. Come back to pit road to wait for my next session and tell the guy at pit road I only hear bits and peace's from my instructor when the engine is running. He says that's the way it is. I could hear fine when the car was shut off. It had way to much engine interface noise. My son also drove and I ask him if he could hear his instructor and he said he could hear him perfect. Go out for my next 8 minute session and was only able to make 5 laps because I got stuck behind a slower car. Was only able to the car to 156mph, which was surprising to me. The cars are way to slow for DEGA. Will I be back, only if the cars are aloud to run the speed they should.
The chevy luma I was given a ride in was old dirty inside and out , just two and one half laps around the track at a slow speed of about 140 mph if that it was a disapointment at Atlanta motor speed way
