I am very happy with Block, great people, knowledgable, honest, trust worthy, amazing work! I highly recommend their work! In today's world, its hard to find integral people/businesses, i believe i have found both in Block: too bad i'm moving out of state soon...Head on over and see Mark today!!
I can't overstate the excellence of Block Automotive. Mark Block is without a doubt the most honest and competent auto repair shop owner I've ever worked with. Local dealers subcontract work to Block when their demand is over capacity, or the job is too difficult for them to handle. Mark has frequently talked me out of spending money; his shop rates for the work he performs are reasonable. If a dealer wants to stick it to you for an expensive repair, I recommend obtaining a second opinion from Block Automotive. When I've been out of town travelling, someone from Block has driven my wife back home while the work was being performed. I suppose he stands behind is work, but we've never had to take a car back - they've always fixed our problems correctly the first time. Incredible!

Marc it is a honest and very kind man, I arrive with my car for a revision and unfortunatelly I dont have now money to start the job, but it will be my first place to go because he is very educated and good manner man, god bless him.
I took my SUV to Block Automotive a few weeks ago due to a problem with my horn going off when the truck was parked or when driving. The dealership had told me that they would have to go through the steering wheel/ airbag to correct the problem. This was not the case with Block. After switching around a few wires, my problem was resolved!! Had not had a working horn the last 2 years.
It is nice to know that there are still some honest, professional people who can get the job done and not try and rip you off. Thanks guys. I will be back!!
Also I recommended my sister to you all and she took her Ford Focus in after going to 3 different mechanics. Block fixed the problem with her ignition/ relay switch and her car is cranking/ starting now as soon as she turns the key!!! Two success stories. Way to go Block! Keep people coming back.
UPDATE: It gets better! The starter that Mark says he did such a good job installing (that the Honda dealership had to go back and re-install) has just been replaced again. It failed after only one year. Please note in Mark's childish response that he actually admits to calling me names, and proceeds to call me a liar all over again. Mark is a giant man-child that is quick to claim that he is a "Christian" yet also quick to call people liars, moron, etc. I work hard for my money, so I fail to see how that makes me a "spoiled brat" as Mark so eloquently put. Please people, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. Avoid this garage at all costs. There are dozens of other honest businesses in this city that will not lead you around like Mark led me. Please learn from my mistake. Like Cookie1176 said below, Mark's version of the events are not true. What is interesting to me is he said he contacted the dealership I took it to. I never once told him which Honda dealership I took it to out of the three in Memphis. Do you honestly believe he called around to all three to find my specific car? Here are the facts once again.
Also note, he never mentions the ECU issue when he says I called and hung up on him originally. HE ALREADY HAD MY CAR AT THIS POINT. And was telling me I needed hundreds more in repairs! Why did you leave that out Mark?
Mark installed a new starter. I got the car back and it failed to start all over again. The second time it was in Mark's shop he tried to tell me I needed a new ECU. I had the car towed to one of local Honda dealerships. They simply re-installed the new starter that Mark had installed. Same ECU. Same battery. And the car worked fine for a year. End of story.
I brought my car into Block Automotive for a simple starter replacement. Block was prompt with the installation and I got my car back for two days with zero issue. Then began a three week saga of ECU's, fried batteries, and taking it to the dealer to get the job done properly.
Two days after my starter got replaced my check engine light came on and the car died. I had it towed back to Block and after a day they informed me my ECU was "fried" and I would have to pay $1,300 for a replacement. Anyone, naturally, would think they might need a second opinion, so I had the car towed to the Honda to have them check it out. They said I might need a new ECU, and spent 5 hours doing diagnostics on it. Ordered the brand new $800 ECU (that block originally said I needed) installed and the car still would not work. Then, since we were back at square one, they went and checked the original starter installation. Lo and behold, it had been installed incorrectly which fried my battery and made the ECU malfunction. Long story short, all issues came from Block's starter installation. The fried battery and the ECU needing to be flashed.
So of course, I call Block back to try to get a refund on the starter he "installed" that I had spent $800 getting Honda to fix. Mark Block's response? Honda is lying. He then asked if I was learning disabled, and proceeded to call me names. I wish I was making this up!! Honda replaced a battery, did 5 hours of troubleshooting and fixed the starter installation. That's it. Now my car runs. You do the math.
Thanks Mark. I can say for certain that I will never be back.
