Lindsey Wagner03/24/155 Stars - I stopped going to Saffire about ten years ago, because they lost the "Crazy,Sexy,Cool" factor that got me hooked in the beginning. The staff had started phoneing it in and the snobbery and better than thou attitudes drove me away. Therefore, I was so upset when I was at The Factory this past sunday for a Chorus event and there was nothing open but Saffire. I rarely give second chances but was forced to for no other options were available. As soon as I entered, I was taken back by the hostess. She said "Hey, welcome to Saffire, I am Candace, come on in" in her southern, down home drawl. This was a complete shock due to the fact that ten years ago the snobby hostess could care less if you came on in much less ever came back, so the vibe of Candace completly set the tone of a different era. Candace showed me to the bar where I always preferred to sit and I was instantly greeted by a refreshing bartender who introduced herself as Brie. She handed me a dinner menu, drink menu, and oyster menu. I was in shock, for the bartenders of ten years ago could care less if you even sat at the bar much less hand you all the menus. Within seconds of being greated by Brie, an oyster shucker came over and introduced himself as Adam. They both gave their undivided attention to me and walked me through the drink menu and oyster menu. Brie was so sweet and actually cared that I enjoyed my drink and made it with care. The knowledge spewed about oysters by Adam was mind blowing. I settled on an Oyster that he said would evolve into three flavors in my mouth ending in watermelon and boy was he right. The great thing about Adam and Brie is that they were working together to make my experience a good one versus the staff of ten years ago that worked against each other with horrible better than thou attitudes. Listen up people, Saffire is bringing the Sexy back and I am now going to start going back! The crazy sexy cool vibe is back and was set by the staff of Candace, Brie, and Adam showing that they actually care. The drinks were amazing! Thanks Brie! The Oysters were perfect! Thanks Adam! I am so happy to return to my old happy place! Thanks Saffire! Second chances were made for experiences like this one I had on Sunday! Crazy, sexy, cool is back in action at Saffire!John Giardina02/20/155 Stars - Great place for lunch or dinner. Excellent staff and nice bar. Plenty of tv's at the bar for sports and a good selection of beers and wine. Always a hit for dinner. Portions are large and everything is delicious. Half price bottles of wine on Sunday. Shrimp and grits are the best.Adam Fielitz02/05/151 Stars - Looked great from the outside. That was the only good part. The oysters had bits of shell in them. The prime rib was WAY over done for medium rare. As was the second one they brought me after i told them about the first. No offers to get me anything else. I left hungry and $50 poorer.Doak Turner08/23/142 Stars - Friday evening, very noisy and loud! Could not have a conversation at the table!! The piano player just made it louder - I would not go back to such a noisy and expensive restaurant for what you get. Yes the pork chop was good and thick, good sauce, very small portion of mashed potatoes and greens under the pork chop. Good taste, however $26.00 for a pork chop and little bit of potatoes and greens - not a pleasant experience. When you cannot talk at the table while you eat, not a pleasant evening.Paul Stiefvater08/10/143 Stars - I think this was a case of over-hipe and lackluster food. From start to finish... here we go. - Bartender was very nice and made a good margarita. The Hellfire is amazing, and he made me a classic version that was also very good. Service was fine. -We started with the cheese and charcuterie. There was a whole lot of cheese, very little of one type of meat, a peach glaze of some sort, and crackers from a box. (Yes, I know the wheat, water, and butterfly shaped cracker come from a box.) My impression here is there was too much cheese for four people to eat, no meat to talk about, and well.. that's about it. Charcutterie implies more than a few slcoes of deer meat from your last hunt. -I got the burger and subbed parmesian truffel fries, and my lady got the pork chop. The burger and fries were great. I actually give them props for the parm fires as they were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The pork chop was fatty but tasty with some run of the mill mash. I don't remember what the veg so take that for what it's worth. Overall the ambiance was very trendy, good crowd, good music. There just was not a lot to speak of when it comes to the depth of the food. What was portrayed is not what was delivered. Let's just say I am glad I didn't gamble on the "MKT" price strip steak. This place needs to find it's identity and stick to it. Or I may have just had bad luck. Not saying I won't go back, just not anytime soon.
